Porto Augusto's LBV 2018
Vineyard
Plots of vineyards located on the steep slopes of the Pinhão River, at an altitude between 150m and 400m, with a soil of shale origin, poor and rugged; low production, high concentration and quality of grapes.
Harvest 2013
Winter was dry, followed by a cold, rainy spring. Summer recorded mild temperatures, with the exception of August. The harvest began two weeks later, given the late flowering of the vine. The red wines resulted concentrated, of high acidity and mature tannins and with strong aromatic expression.
Winemaking
Fresh grapes and at their ideal ripening point, picked by hand for boxes of 20 kg. After desengace and gentle crushing, the grapes were placed in a stainless steel vat, where they fermented for five days, with three "delestage" daily, being in macerated after-waiting for another three days. From this resulted in a wine of excellent extract, which aged in old French oak balseiros. Blend was made in March 2017.
